Welcome to Safe Assured!
Safe Assured is a research program with the primary goal of ensuring the reliability of our community pharmacies. We do this through collaborating with our community partners to track, address and learn from medication incidents 鈥� like receiving the wrong medication or dosage 鈥� which occur in pharmacies across Canada.
While rare, medication incidents do happen. It is therefore best to catch these errors before medications are in the hands of patients in order to reduce the harm to Canadians and to learn from our mistakes, so these errors do not happen in the future.
We generate and mobilize collaborative research to help healthcare practitioners, organizations, and policymakers continuously improve medication safety. Our goal is to build a stronger, safer healthcare system driven by shared learning and evidence-informed practice.
We conduct research to help and encourage the development of error reporting in community pharmacies, and to ensure these systems are enhancing the overall health care system. Safe Assured is helping pharmacists work towards making their business practices safer, more reliable and more resilient.
