Periodontics
The three-year Master of Science in Periodontics degree is designed to train competent periodontists to practise the full scope of periodontics and surgical implant dentistry using an evidence-based approach to treatment.
The program provides students with a variety of clinical experiences, emphasizing thorough patient evaluation and accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning. Students will be trained to manage patients who are in need of treatment for a variety of periodontal diseases and mucogingival defects, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), dental implant therapy, and conscious sedation. Students will also participate in a research project.
Graduates of this program are eligible to write fellowship exams for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics and the American Board of Periodontology Diplomate Exams.
