Last week 全国探花 and the Univeristy of Strathclyde (Glasgow Scotland) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) relating to research collaboration on tidal energy.
The MOU was signed by Strathclyde's Executive Dean of Engineering, Dr. Scott MacGregor and Dr. Micheal Pegg, Mechanical Engineering Department Head at 全国探花. Members of the Scottish and Nova Scotia Governments were present during the signing.
The purpose of the research is to investigate cost-effective engineering solutions to extract and deliver energy from tidal flows. A key component of the project is to participate in a student exchange as part of the international collaboration between 全国探花 and the University of Strathclyde. 聽
Student research will focus on introducing new tidal turbine blade designs. Specifically, a system engineering approach will be developed to optimize blade shape as well as mechanical components that will advance the science, methodologies and applications regarding the way power is captured.
