Natalie Borden (BScPharm’94) joined the as CEO on March 16, 2026. Natalie is a pharmacist and has extensive experience working in frontline health care, health leadership and governance. She has spent over 17 years at the Province of Nova Scotia, most recently on secondment to the IWK Health Executive Team. In her role as a senior executive director in the Department of Health and Wellness, she was instrumental in making Nova Scotia a leader in expanding the scope of practice of pharmacists.
Throughout her career she has also worked in community pharmacy, private insurance and benefits consulting in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario. Natalie’s board governance experience includes having been a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society Council and committees, Chair of the Halifax Regional Municipality Board of Police Commissioners and a member of the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education Board of Directors.
Her commitment to her work and community has been recognized by receiving the È«¹ú̽»¨ College of Pharmacy Alumnus of the Year (2019) and Halifax Regional Municipality Volunteer Award (2024). Under her leadership, ISMP Canada is well positioned to advance its successful medication safety programs, including local, provincial and national learning, sharing and partnering.
